What Is WGOS Care?
Buckley Eyecare are proud to offer enhanced NHS Wales eye services under the Wales General Ophthalmic Services (WGOS). These services allow many patients — including those who might once have needed hospital care — to be assessed, managed and supported in the community by our highly trained eyecare team.

Eye Examinations and Preventative Care
We provide full NHS-funded eye examinations for eligible patients, delivering more than just vision checks. These assessments look at the health of your eyes and help form a personalised plan to protect your sight.
Urgent Eye Health Support
Through WGOS Level 2 services, we can see patients with urgent eye problems without a hospital referral. This includes sudden changes in vision, painful or red eyes, and other concerning symptoms. We will assess your condition promptly and determine the best next steps.

Low Vision Assessment
For patients experiencing significant visual impairment, WGOS Level 3 enables specialist low vision assessments. These appointments focus on maximising remaining sight and providing appropriate support or aids.
